About Me

Who Am I?
Hello everyone, my name is Kathryn Hendry but please, call me Katy.

Over these past 17 years I have worked with or in an array of different areas such as research, grant funding opportunities for faculty (research administration), advanced preparedness for students with intellectual and developmental disabilities, at-risk undergraduate level students (specializing in mathematics), professional development, leadership, project management, office management, distance learning initiatives, instructional design, and program development.

Through my wide range of exposure to different areas within the higher education spectrum, I find that I am a well-balanced individual with the ability to handle multiple projects and deadlines and am always willing to learn, grow, and help.

Some of my areas of expertise are, pre-award (proposal development) research administration, distance learning programs, program/course/curriculum design, educational integrity, project compliance, project management, teaching, training, and consulting. Through my experiences working in both 2-year and 4-year (private and public) regionally accredited institutions, I have gained a wealth of knowledge regarding organizational structure and design to fit the needs of different institutions and learning environments.

What Defines Me?

I won't deny the fact that I can be very much a Type-A Personality and my Meyer's Briggs test supports that statement since I am an ENTJ due to my strong will and drive for success and equality for women but for the most part I am known as a "Giver." I fluctuate between ENTJ and ENFJ.

ENFJ's are warm, empathetic, responsive, and responsible. We are highly attuned to the emotions, needs, and motivations of others. We find potential in everyone, want to help others fulfill their potential. We may act as catalysts for individual and group growth. We are also loyal, responsive to praise and criticism, sociable, facilitate others in a group, and provide inspiring leadership.

I am not just a giving person but I am also creative and enjoy taking risks for the advancement of others both personally and professionally. I am often thinking of new ways to solve problems or ways in which to be creative. My outgoing personality and intuitive side allow me to work well with others while my creativity and drive enable me to work independently on a multitude of different tasks.

In addition to being a leader, I am an activist, an artist, and a woman on mission.  There will always be obstacles in the path of life but what makes a person stand out is how they face those situations with the knowledge to overcome them.

"I want every little girl who's told she's bossy, to be told she has leadership skills"
- Sheryl Sandberg
